bacoli baia e monte di procidamonte di procida type:archaeological/landscape interest:
Monte di Procida is the village that has one of the most wonderful landscapes in Campi Flegrei. It is possible to watch, from the village, not only Campi Flegrei area but also domitio coast and, on the other side, the promontory of Gaeta and Sorrento coast. Downtown is charaterized by the church of Santa Maria Assunta; in Her name there is a popular party very important for local citizens. Close to downtown, in Cappella, it has been found the Roman Necropolis of naval fleet of Misenum, very interesting because of some beautiful paintings. Along the coast you can visit Torregaveta – where in Roman period there was the villa of senator Publio Servilio Vatia – and the Isolotto of San Martino, ideal place for people that are keen on diving or prefer to spend a day on the seaside far from crowded beaches.
