The magnificence of Borbonic dynasty is clearly visible in Campi Flegrei area. Casina Vanvitelliana, built on desire of Ferdinando IV of Borbone, is an important witness of the importance of Fusaro Lake and its surroundings for hunting and fishing. Many centuries ago that was called Swamp of Acheronte; during Medieval time it was used to produce hemp in special basins named fusari. The lake has been named after them. During 18th century it was one of the most important places for king’s and his court’s leisure. The Casina hosted the guests of Ferdinando king and, after that, Mozart, Rossini, Goethe and the Italian Republic President Einaudi.
