On the crest of Monte Spina you can see the ruins of some thermal baths dating at the Age of the Emperor Adriano, renovated more than once until the VI century, when the barbarian Trasamondo wanted to restore part of the thermal baths. A part from the traditional rooms – frigidarium, calidarium and tepidarium – there is also a praefurnium. Near these Roman ruins there are the new thermal baths, a very attractive place both for Italian and foreign people. During the Middle Age they were known as Saint German’s shroud and, at the beginning of the 20th century, they were renovated by the architect Giulio Ulisse Arata, according to the Art Nouveau style. The thermal baths of Agnano offer the opportunity to have different therapeutic treatments, like aerosol and mud baths.

One of those was found in 1939 in Via Terracina at the level of the current crossroads with Via Marconi. This archaelogical site, of a small size, dates at the II century a.C. and presents various rooms, among which the frigidarium (with its wonderful mosaics) and the apodyterium. Afterwards were built various tabernae, used by the passers during their path as a rest-stop.
